Mighty No. 9’s Masterclass Trailer Greeted With Immediate Hate From Its Audience

I don’t know what it is about the month of May that it suddenly turned into the month where many people are expressing overwhelming hate about trailers for movies they haven’t seen yet and trailers for video games they haven’t played yet. We’ve had the new Ghostbusters movie, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the most recent Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE “Get Hyped for Combat” trailer, and now Mighty No. 9 is falling victim to people’s unrelenting snark, negativity and all-around unpleasantness in the form of Youtube dislikes and more. I’m not saying that people are not allowed to express their dissatisfaction over something, but there is certainly a better way to speak about these things without sounding like…well, a jerk would be the nicer way to put it.

To be fair, the way that the trailer is presented to us does not seem to show a game with the amount of quality that one would expect, especially when considering the many delays that this game has gotten. In addition to that, it comes with a narrator talking through most of it, whose dialogue is as complex as the average Internet blogger or personality that employs the same logic and eloquence on a daily basis. This, along with shoddy graphics and a lack of variety in the gameplay footage, can understandably leave people very concerned about this maybe not being the game some were expecting.

In any case, watch the trailer yourself and see what’s up. Personally, I’ve always been on the fence about this game, but my thoughts are such that I should simply wait for its release on June 21 and see how the game is received. Mighty No. 9 will be out on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U and PC, with its 3DS and Vita release dates still not revealed.
