The new GeForce Game Ready driver is optimized for Fortnite, and adds support for ShadowPlay Highlights to the popular game. In addition, the new Game Ready driver is a required update for anyone wanting to use the newly-unveiled NVIDIA Freestyle, and our new NVIDIA Ansel enhancements. To download and install, simply fire up GeForce Experience and click the “Drivers” tab.
So what is Freestyle you may be asking. Well it’s really just a way for you to personally customize a game’s appearance through the application of real-time post-processing filters. With Freestyle’s options you can be more creative with your games, adding a retro filter, enhancing color, or make a game look more photorealistic.
You can even use night mode, which reduces the amount of blue light emitted, so you can get to sleep easier after a night of gaming.
All of Freestyle’s functions are easily applied through an in-game overlay, accessed by pressing “Alt+F3” in supported titles. There are 15 available filters, 38 different settings, and many possible combinations, enabling you to create a truly unique look for your gameplay with just a few clicks.
NVIDIA also added a new feature to Shadowplay Highlights that automatically captures kills, deaths, and key events in supported games including Fortnite Battle Royale, enabling you to review, edit, and share your best and most amusing moments with ease after a long day of gaming.
NVIDIA Ansel also got an upgrade in this new update. Before you could press “Alt+F2” while playing certain games to capture unique, professional-grade 2D, from a 360° position around your subject in the game. Ansel is now even better with a refreshed design, new features, and integration into the “Alt+Z” Share overlay. When accessing Ansel now you’ll find refreshed overlay controls, 8 new filters, and the ability to combine multiple filters together.
This is a pretty meaty update filled with features that I know I’ll personally be using a lot in the near future, and for other NVIDIA users I know you will too. For more details on this and other NVIDIA updates visit: NVIDIA’s Website.
